What We Believe

Helping people discover meaningful purpose in life through a relationship with Jesus Christ, as we make His name known across the Nashville community and the world.

As we do this we will . . .

Love God supremely
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”   (Mt. 22:37-38)

Love others genuinely
Love your neighbor as yourself. (Mt. 22:39)

Glorify God in every area of life
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Cor. 10:31)

Make Disciples
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  (Mt. 28:19-20)

Making God’s Name Known

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the LORD added to their number daily those who were being saved.  (Acts 2:42-47)

How we accomplish our mission – G4

Belmont Heights Ministry Strategy: Gather / Grow / Go / Give

Gather                                                                                                                                                                                                  Ps. 34:3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!

We value gathering regularly to magnify and worship God expecting meet Him and see Him move in our hearts and lives. This involves:

  • Coming into His presence through Prayer
  • Bringing honor to Him in joyful and creative praise
  • Studying His Word, applying it to our lives, allowing it to change us forever

Grow                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Col. 2: 7 “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

We value and place a strong emphasis on spiritual growth and personal discipleship desiring to become spiritually mature being involved in a Bible Study / Life Group that focuses on:

  • The study of God’s Word in an informal setting
  • Fellowship among believers as we “do life” together
  • Expressing love, care and service for one another

Go                                                                                                                                                                                                   Matt. 28:19 Jesus said: “go and make disciples of all the nations”

1 Peter 3:15 “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

The Holy Spirit is our power to reach:

  • Our Jerusalem — the Belmont, Hillsboro, 12-South area and all of Nashville
  • Our Judea — Tennessee
  • Our Samaria — anyone different than us
  • The ends of the earth are . . . just what it says: the ends of the earth.

Give                                                                                                                                                                                                    John 3:16 “For God so loved the world he gave . . .”

Because the heart of God is to give, each believer is called to give of themselves and what they have been blessed with in service to others. We give through: acts of service, acts of compassion, acts of ministry, and acts of love. Because we are motivated by His love, we delight in giving:

  • Our abilities, natural talents, and learned skills
  • Our spiritual giftedness
  • Our time and possessions for God’s glory
